I’m Sara Lázaro, a Barcelona wedding photographer working in a documentary and film style, shooting 35mm and medium format for couples who want their day to feel real, not staged. Based in Spain, available for destination weddings across Europe.

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2007, long enough to know when something is about to happen before it does. That kind of anticipation only comes with time, and it’s probably the most useful thing I bring to a wedding day.

My approach is documentary. I watch, I wait and I shoot what actually happens. Giving you the space to be yourselves while I stay in the background and coming home with photographs that still make sense ten years from now.

I specialize in film photography — 35mm and medium format — and it’s the format I use in my own life. Film slows everything down in the best possible way. It brings a quality to the images that’s hard to describe but immediately recognizable: grain, color, a certain honesty. I also shoot digital when the day calls for it, but film is always at the center of how I work.
