vestido novia romantico

This couple wanted to have their wedding day in a beautiful modernist Hotel in Barcelona and they wanted me as  their wedding photographer. They were telling me about the style they were looking for: a romantic and elegant boho chic wedding, but mixed with an informal touch and lots and lots of partying. All of this was celebrated at Hotel Circa 1905, one of the most stylish and refined hotels in Barcelona.

I started the day with Mariona surrounded by all her friends as they prepared for their wedding day. She was staying at the Hotel Circa 1905.  A modernist boutique hotel with lots of charm located in the heart of the Eixample district. As soon as I got to the room I saw a little of the aesthetics that I was anticipated on that first afternoon we met. Mariona’s wedding dress was hanging in a corner of the room. It was an amazing long-sleeved dress made by L’Arca Barcelona. It was simple, but its great neckline and slit in the skirt along with some delicate embroidery gave it that elegant and chic look that she was looking for in her dress and in the overall aesthetics of the wedding.

There was plenty of cava in the room while Imanol Fuentes was in charge of doing everyone’s hair and makeup. And once ready, I had a few minutes alone with Mariona to photograph her in that special moment and so many nerves.

I saw Pau directly at the Barcelona City Hall. I didn’t have time to tell him how handsome he looked with his bow tie because he only had eyes for Mariona the rest of the day. I took advantage of that little while before the ceremony to photograph them in one of the most majestic rooms of the City Hall. And after a few minutes of tranquility, the ceremony began in the Saló de Cent of the City Hall. I have already mentioned this spectacular hall in my blog. I have been lucky enough to photograph some weddings in it (an elegant Christmas wedding or a wedding with subsequent celebration in the Cafè de la Pedrera).

After the emotional ceremony, we took a walk through some streets of the Gothic Quarter and ended up heading to the restaurant where they would spend the rest of the evening: El Principal de l’Eixample. It is a sophisticated stately restaurant that finished giving that elegant touch to their wedding. An inner courtyard that you don’t imagine is there until you enter and that I think must be one of the best kept secrets of the neighborhood. Surrounded by huge modernist glass windows and adorned with huge trees from which hang verbenas of light bulbs that give a romantic and organic touch to a refined architecture.

And when the day seemed to be about to come to an end, the biggest show of the day began: the Golden Beat, a music group with their own disco funk versions of great songs. The result? A party where no one stopped dancing, singing and giving it all. I warn you: there are many pictures of that moment. But it was a great party where I couldn’t stop taking pictures and having fun with them. So I recommend you to put some music in the background (they have their own youtube channel where you can listen to some of their songs) and enjoy that moment as much as they did.
