This wedding took place at Mas Huix, a beautiful masia in Catalonia, Spain, surrounded by mountains, pine trees and complete tranquillity. Mas Huix is located in a very natural area, away from busy towns and noise. It’s the kind of place where couples can disconnect for a few days and really enjoy time with their closest friends and family. Most couples rent the masia for the whole weekend, which allows them to celebrate their wedding in a very relaxed way: barbecues, time by the pool, long conversations, and incredible views stretching towards the Mediterranean coast in the distance.

A relaxed and intimate wedding at Mas Huix

This was a very intimate and relaxed wedding. The couple travelled from Canada to get married here because they’re both deeply connected to nature and cycling. This part of Catalonia is well known for cycling routes and mountain landscapes, which made Mas Huix feel like the perfect place for them. They wanted something simple, natural and free from strict protocols. Just their closest people, good food, open space and time to enjoy it all without pressure. The ceremony took place outdoors in the late afternoon, using the soft sunlight and the surrounding greenery as the backdrop. It felt calm and personal, with no rush and no formalities beyond what felt meaningful to them.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered on the terrace at Mas Huix. From there, you can see incredible open views across the landscape, with the Mediterranean far in the distance. They chose one long square table so everyone could sit together. It created a very connected atmosphere, where conversations flowed naturally. The food included paella and typical dishes and wines from the region, which added to the sense of being fully present in Catalonia, Spain. The whole evening felt easy and unforced, exactly what they had imagined when planning their wedding.

Documentary and analogue wedding photography at Mas Huix

For this wedding, I worked with a mix of digital and analogue photography, always keeping my documentary approach. My goal was to move quietly through the day and document what was actually happening, without directing or interrupting. The combination of film and digital allowed me to work with intention while still adapting to the changing light and pace of the celebration. Mas Huix, as a traditional masia surrounded by nature, works beautifully with analogue photography. The textures, the landscape and the slower rhythm of the weekend made it easy to stay present and photograph everything in a natural way. By the end of the day, I felt like I was simply part of the celebration, documenting a very relaxed and honest wedding in Spain..
