boda entre mujeres

This is a wedding of two women in love. They wanted to spend a beautiful day with their loved ones and give visibility to the LGTBI collective. Wendy, the WP of Bodas de Cuento, had only words of affection for them. She kept repeating to me: “Sara, they are lovely. They are for you. Talk to them. You’ll love them. Two years after their wedding, Joana, Raquel and I are still sending each other WhatsApp audios in the wee hours of the morning to tell each other how life is treating us. So Wendy was right, but only half right: it’s not that “they were for me”, it’s that I surrendered to their way of being and seeing life.

And just as I remember perfectly the first time I spoke to them by video call, I remember their faces as soon as they arrived at the hotel room where they were getting ready together for their wedding day. They were the perfect mix of nerves, excitement and joy. They dressed each other amidst laughter and jokes of complicity. They chose simple dresses adorned with lace from Otaduy.

After that, we took advantage of the early morning sun to take some photos of the two of them together, already dressed and brimming with nerves on the terrace of their room, as we did not want to waste too much time before the ceremony.

The rest of the day was spent at the Palacio de Larrinaga in Zaragoza, a beautiful early 20th century building built in a neo-Renaissance style of stone, marble, brick, steel, iron and glass. Bodas de Cuento took care of the decoration of this wedding down to the smallest detail. A fusion of modern chic style with a boho touch in which the palette of pinks, golds and incredible feathery flowers predominated. The latter, along with all the floral decoration, came from Savia Bruta Flor.
