An Intimate Beach Wedding in a Hidden Cove on the Costa Brava

An Intimate Beach Wedding on the Costa Brava

This wedding took place last summer on the Costa Brava, in a small beach cove by the Mediterranean Sea. It was a very intimate and relaxed day, far from anything formal or traditional. The couple lives in Northern Europe and wanted to get married somewhere warmer, in Spain, close to the sea. They were looking for a place that felt natural and quiet, without crowds or big venues. That’s why they chose a small cove on the Costa Brava, surrounded by rocks, pine trees and wild landscape.

Why they chose the Costa Brava for their wedding

They wanted a destination that felt different from home. Somewhere sunny, simple and connected to nature. Spain felt like the right choice, and the Costa Brava offered exactly what they were looking for. Instead of a large beach, they preferred a small cove, what we call a cala here, more hidden and less busy. These small beaches are very typical of the Costa Brava and are perfect if you want privacy and a slower pace. Even in summer, you can still find places like this if you know where to look.

A relaxed and intimate beach ceremony

The ceremony took place right on the beach, with only their closest family and friends around them. Everyone had travelled from Northern Europe to be there, which made it feel even more special. There was no strict structure and no pressure to follow traditions. The ceremony was simple, natural and calm. It was one of those weddings where nothing feels forced.

A couple session along the Costa Brava coastline

After the ceremony, we stayed around the area for their couple session. The landscape there is very varied: small paths between rocks, views over the Mediterranean, cliffs, pine trees and little hidden beaches. We didn’t plan much. We just walked and stopped when something caught our attention. The Costa Brava is perfect for this kind of session because the surroundings already do most of the work. The mix of sea, rocks and light creates a very natural atmosphere without needing to pose too much.

An intimate dinner in a small masia

Later in the day, everyone moved to a small masia they had rented nearby. They had prepared an outdoor dinner with candles, flowers and a long table where everyone could sit together. Again, everything stayed very relaxed. No strict timing, no formal setup. Just good food, conversation and a warm summer evening. As it got darker, the candles lit up the space and the dinner slowly turned into a long, quiet night with the people they care about most. The dinner, just like the ceremony, was very intimate and personal.

A natural and intimate wedding in Spain

This wedding was all about keeping things simple. A small beach cove on the Costa Brava, close family and friends, good food and time to enjoy the place. No rush, no rules, no expectations. Just a relaxed and intimate way of getting married in Spain, shaped by the landscape and the people who were there.

I recommend you to take a look to this wedding on the wild coast of Mallorca (Spain).
